2nd CAPD Interdisciplinary Training Event, June 29th & 30th 2010
Welcome

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED EXCEPT FOR THE DVD OPTION IN 2011.

The members of the NUIG/HSE/CAPD Research Group are delighted to announce this upcoming 2nd Interdisciplinary Learning Event, hosted by the Discipline of Speech and Language Therapy, NUI Galway.

We are delighted that Professor Teri Bellis has agreed to return to Galway and we look forward to her presentations and the opportunity to extend and share the learning through group activities facilitated by Professor Bellis. We encourage members of all the key professions to attend the option of their preference to make this a valuable interdisciplinary learning experience.

In 2009, Professor Teri James Bellis and Professor Somaia Tawfik presented at our first interdisciplinary learning event on (C)APD in NUI Galway.  175 people participated in this event and it was enthusiastically received by everyone.

Addressing the topic of (C)APD requires an interdisciplinary and interagency response and it has been encouraging to have participants from the various professions coming together to share the learning.

These interdisciplinary Learning Events on (C)APD are in response to recommendation three of the  report entitled: ‘Current and future services for (C)APD in Ireland’ which was launched by the HSE and NUI Galway in 2008 . A copy of this report can be downloaded from the NUI Galway Speech and Language Therapy website at:

We wish to thank the Professional Education, HR Directorate, HSE for financially supporting these events.

Chair of CAPD Research Group
