The very first meeting of the International Conference on the Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry of Germanium, Tin and lead, ICCOC-GTL-1, took place in Marseille, France in 1974. Since then it has been a tri-annual event which has taken place in venues in other European countries, Canada, Japan, Australia and most recently, ICCOC-GTL-11, in Santa Fe, USA. The conferences provide an important forum for the dissemination of all exciting new developments and advancements in the chemistry of germanium, tin and lead and have always been conducted in a most pleasant and cordial atmosphere.
The organisation for the next conference of the series, ICCOC-GTL-12, was started by Professor Des Cunningham who sadly died in Septemebr 2006. His colleagues and friends are continuing Des's plans and the conference will take place in Galway, Ireland from July 9 – July 13, 2007. Galway is a vibrant but intimate city situated in a highly scenic area of the rugged west coast of Ireland.
It is a great pleasure therefore to invite you to Galway for ICCOC-GTL-12 (July 9 -13, 2007).
