Irish National and University Library Staff Conference, June 14-16, 2007

Welcome

INULS 2007: Collaborating and Competing

Galway in June has its share of attractions and to these you can add in 2007 an enticing INULS conference. Libraries have a strong tradition of collaboration but competition is an increasing factor for all of us and the boundaries between the two are often fuzzy. Top-quality speakers will address a range of issues including collaboration and competition between universities, by libraries and departments within the same institution, and the impact of global forces like Google and the social networking movement. There will also be opportunities to participate in workshop sessions and to talk to conference sponsors at their exhibition.

No INULS conference would be complete without a very active and varied social programme. There will be lots to do at the conference and in and around Galway. You will have every chance to make new friends as well as catching up with old acquaintances in an atmosphere of craic agus ceol. All in all, a great way to mix business and pleasure and to enjoy the summer vibrancy of the West of Ireland.
