On behalf of the Irish Local Organizing Committee, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 11th International Conference on Applied Phycology and the 3rd Congress of the International Society for Applied Phycology (ISAP). This conference is the first to be held in Ireland and the meeting will be held under the auspices of ISAP, from June 21st to June 27th 2008 at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The Irish Local Organizing Committee is making every effort to ensure that your participation is scientifically rewarding and that pleasant memories of Galway and its surroundings will remain with you for a very long time.
Globally, the use of microalgae and macroalgae continue to expand as new products, technologies and markets are discovered. Cultivation of commercially important microalgae in bioreactors and ponds or macroalgae on long lines in the sea is becoming more and more important as source for the algal industry. The participants at this conference will include engineers, manufacturers, contractors, scientists, researchers, students, economists, industry representatives, and policymakers. It will provide an important forum to discuss the latest research and to develop new synergies.
The overall title of this conference is “Applied Phycology in the 21st Century; novel opportunities in a changing world”. This will guarantee some exciting subjects and discussions not to be missed. We have also organized an interesting social program to enable you to see the magnificent nature of Connamara and the Burren and to sample local algae in the process.
We cordially invite you to the 11th International Conference on Applied Phycology in Galway, Ireland to enjoy an excellent scientific program, be amongst friends and colleagues and enjoy the Irish hospitality.
