A range of English language courses are offered for 2009 – General English – Intermediate, Advanced and Proficiency Levels and also Business English. These courses are not designed for beginners. Students must be eighteen years or over, and must have already attained at least post elementary/lower intermediate standard.
Study in Galway will give students an opportunity to improve their English in the attractive rural environment of the West of Ireland. An important aspect of the programme will be an introduction to the rich cultural life of Galway and the West of Ireland.
SU291 General English – Intermediate Level
This three week course is designed to develop fluency and communicative skills. There will be morning classes covering relevant grammar topics, vocabulary, related reading material and listening exercises. The course will also address material relevant to the Cambridge First Certificate in English.
SU292 General English – Advanced Level
This three week course will extend the advanced student’s knowledge of English vocabulary, grammar and idiom, as well as developing fluency. Emphasis in the morning sessions is on speaking and listening skills. The classes will also be suitable for students who wish to sit the Cambridge Examination in Advanced English.
