Preliminary Announcement: Call for Papers & Presentations

  3rd Annual Scientific Meeting & Annual General Meeting
Thursday & Friday, 18th - 19th February 2010

The 3rd Annual Scientific Meeting will reflect current developments in medical/clinical skills education, teaching & clinical skills transfer and assessment within Ireland and in the wider international context. Contributions from nursing, health sciences, health promotion and basic sciences very much appreciated

  • We would very much welcome applications for poster and oral presentations at INMED 2010 from all healthcare professions that describe completed or planned research.
  • We would like to invite descriptions of proposed healthcare education workshops that applicants would like to offer. We have two workshop options – Option A: a full length workshop 2 - 2.5 hours duration and Option B: a shorter 75 minute workshop that can be repeated twice during the afternoon.
  • We would like to invite brief descriptions of educational ideas or innovations that will form part of an educational ideas swap shop running from lunch time to the close on the on the 18th. These may be anything from novel approaches to teaching skills, assessment tools, SSM ideas, student support approaches etc.  The purpose of the swap shop is to increase the exchange of ideas and knowledge between schools in different parts of Ireland and to encourage more collaboration. The ideas swap shop contributions may be in the form of a display that delegates can look at or a short presentation that will occur during the workshop period.

NB: Abstracts should comply with the guidelines issued by the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland. A prize of € 300 will be offered for the best paper and poster presentation.

NB: Maximum poster size is 115 cm high and 88 cm wide (portrait)! Max word count for abstracts is 500 words! Abstract may contain 1 table only and 300 words!
