Fishery Dependent Information Conference, August 23-26, 2010
Paper Publication

It is intended that selected papers based on presentations at the conference will be published in a special issue of the ICES Journal of Marine Science (IJMS). Submitted manuscripts will be peer reviewed under the control of IJMS Editors. The special issue will comprise the conference proceedings, and the target publication date is November 2011.

The present call for abstracts relates to proposed verbal or poster presentations at the conference. In addition, you are encouraged to consider the later submission of a manuscript for publication in the IJMS special issue. It would be helpful if prospective authors would indicate with their abstract return whether or not they wish to submit a manuscript for publication in the IJMS special issue. Manuscripts must be original and not submitted for publication elsewhere, covering research activities or reviews relevant to one or more of the conference themes.

Drafts of proposed manuscripts should be sent to the Guest Editor, David N MacLennan, maclennan22@aol.com, by 30 July, preferably as MS Word documents or PDF files attached to emails.

The proposed manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editorial Committee during the conference, and immediately afterwards authors will be informed if a formal manuscript is solicited. At that time guidance notes on deadlines, formats etc. relevant to the special issue will be provided (these will be supplementary to the standard IJMS author guide which is available on the website, icesjms.oxfordjournals.org ). Authors will then have the opportunity to revise manuscripts based on discussions and comments during the conference, and the deadline for the revised version to be with the Guest Editor is 15 October 2010. Thereafter manuscripts will be subject to the usual peer-review and editorial procedures of the IJMS.
