2nd Interdisciplinary Learning Event on

Central Auditory Processing Disorders (C)APD

(Hosted by The Discipline of Speech and Language Therapy, NUI Galway)

Presenter: Prof. Teri Bellis

 

Prof. Teri James Bellis, Ph.D, is Professor and Chair of audiology at the Department of Communication Disorders, University of South Dakota and also the Director of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinics at the University of South Dakota. She is the author of authoritative texts for professionals on the diagnosis and treatment of (C)APD. This interdisciplinary event is of special interest to professionals in the fields of: Audiology, Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Education.  This event is supported by Professional Education, HR Directorate, HSE and is free of charge to participants who attend.

·          Relationship between auditory processing and learning, language and communication

·          Screening for (C)APD and overview of diagnostic tools

·          Interdisciplinary Group Activity- Screening/Diagnostic Case Studies

Wednesday 30th June 2010

( 9.00am – 5.30pm)

 

·          Differential Diagnosis of (C)APD

·          Principles of (C)APD intervention

·          Programming deficit-specific intervention for (C)APD

·          Interdisciplinary Group Activity-    Intervention Case Studies

·          Intervention- Environmental modifications, compensatory strategies and direct remediation approaches.

·          Question and Discussion

Option 1

Attend the Interdisciplinary event on June 29th and June 30th 2010 in Áras Moyola, NUI, Galway  (Tea, coffee & light lunch will be provided on both days free of charge for this option).PLEASE NOTE LIVE EVENT IS NOW FULL

Option 2         

Attend a live video link to the event in Galway on June 29th and June 30th at one of the following locations:
