Ms. Helen Lowry from Co.Mayo is currently community work coordinator in the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MCRI). She is a graduate of the Higher Diploma in Youth and Community Work and Masters in Applied Social Studies from NUI Maynooth. In the MRCI Helen coordinates MRCI’s community work activities, leadership development initiatives with migrants and also coordinates the Migrant Education Access campaign calling for equality for children of Non-EU migrants accessing third level education in Ireland. Over the years Helen has coordinated several leadership development courses, including designing and delivering the first course in Community Work aimed at migrant workers with NUI Maynooth. Helen is an occasional lecturer in with the Department of Applied Social Studies NUI Maynooth on community development theory and practice and migration. She is an active member of the Community Workers Cooperative and is currently co-chair.
